SMOKIN HOT J-POPS
Savory? Spicy? AND cooked on the grill? Sign me up!
I just love jalapeno poppers, and I've never really thought about making 'em at home. With a feisty toddler running the show, it's so hard to get out to a restaurant. But even at that, we love staying at home and cooking out back on our awesome patio. So we thought about how we could make j-pops (as we call them) at home. Turns out, it's soooo easy!
Ingredients
Four jalapeno peppers. Chop in half and scoop out the insides, else they'll be FIRE! (I did a bunch of yard work earlier in the day, and had cuts all over my hands. I knew it'd be brutal to handle the peppers- but we didn't have gloves. So I put ziploc bags over my hands and voila! A bit awkward, yes- but it worked!)
Block of cream cheese
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Green onions
Everything But The Bagel seasoning
Bacon (BACON!)

Mush together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped green onion and seasoning. Make a big ol gloppy mess.
Smear as much of the mixture as you can into the slices of the peppers. Put the peppers back together again, and wrap in bacon. James had a pro tip: use a toothpick to keep it all together, else it'll squish out on the grill. He's a smart one, that James.

Grill it all up, nice and good. It's amazing, you guys.

Now, because I'm a bit of a pansy with spice (but I LOOOOVE it), my mouth was on fire! I dipped in ranch- which helped but I was admittedly still in pain. James suggested that maybe I use anaheim peppers next time for my portion. We'll see.
Either way, give this a try and let me know how it goes. Know of any other grilled appetizers? Please share!
